EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES
Nothing here right now.
This just in from the US First Responders Assoc. Jodi Helmer writes:
I'm writing an article for Esperanza magazine (www.hopetocope.com) about depression among first responders. I'd like to interview first responders (both men and women of all ages and ethnic backgrounds) who have been diagnosed with depression and are willing to share their experiences. I'm interested in finding out how their job has affected their mental health, how depression is viewed in their field, what resources are available to assist them in coping, etc. I'm hoping that the U.S. First Responders Association can help me connect with suitable sources.

INNOVATIONS AND LESSONS LEARNED
Due to an increase in horse trailer accidents over the past five years, State Departments of Transportation (DOTs) have decided to start enforcing rules regarding trucks and trailers over a certain weight.
Many horse trainers, and others who make a living in this industry have been skirting the laws for years regarding the requirements of needing a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). If you are driving a truck and trailer, and you are receiving money for it, if you have sponsors, if you are earning money at a show through training or winning money you are considered commercial.
The combined gross vehicle weight (CGVW) of your truck and trailer may also require a special licence classification. Any combination vehicle over 26,001 lbs. CGVW, when the trailer exceeds 10,000 lbs., requires a Class A operators license.
